Baking is a hobby. But this hobby is pretty expensive. In order to be able to try a wide range of bakes and cakes, you really need to be fully equipped with not just ingredients but bakewares too. A pan is a pan but there are so many types. Springform, Aluminium, Stainless Steel, Teflon/Non stick coated, Bundt, Tube, Cheesecake Pan and even now there are silicon pans. Each pan when bake does yield different results so it is important to adjust them depending on the type of your pan. I sometimes bake as many as 3x a day just to perfect recipe base on my ingredients and equipment. Sometimes different butter too yields different texture, moisture and taste.
A blogger friend asked if it was wise investing in a pan for baking. Well I'm sure it would be because you can use it over and over again for many more years to come. You can use it to serve food or use aluminium pans for many purpose.
I promised to show her my collection of bakeware. I have a weakness for them.. Here they are. There are some up in the cupboards that I don't use too but these ones are my regular ones.

Wow!! The bear shaped madeleine pan is really nice & cute! You use this to bake for??
Which pans are better? the aluminium or stainless steel??
What's the difference between chiffon tube pan and bundt pan??
Hehe...I'm a newbie that asked too much questions :P
Err... I thought I saw a heart shape pan...
the Bear shaped pan can be used for lots of things, actually. mini cakes/madeleines, pancakes, and even mould Jelly!
i like to use aluminium pans cos they bake faster. but of course quality wise, stainless steel is better.
the tube is used to make chiffon for better heat distribution. the bundt pan is also used for sponge and chiffons except that there is this pattern below. the springform is good for delicate cakes to be release with convenience. it has a clasp at the side.
Psst..I too have too many baking ware. I just bought myself a springform!! Hee hee..and a 24 mini muffin pan. For me, I also prefer stainless steel.. coz my family has genetical predisposition to alzheimers..and aluminium is thought to be one of the causes to it. :[
wow, looking at your collection i can believe how serious you are into baking now, i only have 1 pan and am going to get a chiffon tube pan soon. :p
