Sweet & Sour Meatballs

Sweet and Sour dish is a favourite with many people. Famous Oriental dishes like Sweet and Sour Pork and Fish are widely ordered in Chinese Restaurants and also cooked at home. But this recipe that I am going to share is a western style and is very popular with young kids. This is Sweet and Sour Meatballs, using grape jelly that is simple to cook and no need the use of Wok to stirfry. It can be done by kids too!

A To make meatballs
1 kg minced beef
2 eggs slightly beaten
a cup of dry bread crumbs
2 tbsp parsley flakes
1 onion, chopped
2 tsp salt
2 tbsp worcestershire sauce
half tsp ground black pepper

B Sweet and Sour Sauce
12 oz chilly sauce
1 tbsp lemon juice
10oz jar of grape jelly (grape jam)
1 tbsp soy sauce
2 tbsp brown sugar

Make the meatball by mixing the ingredients A. When they are all mixed evenly, shape them into balls. On a pan, brown it lightly in oil. Drain and set aside.

Mix the ingredients B in a small pot. Turn on the stove to let it cook. Drop the meatballs in one by one and let the meatball cooked in the simmering pot for about 45 minutes. Serve on a platter.
